Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an affinity for (molecular) biology or immunology to support our R&D bioinformatics team as a Junior Bioinformatician. The individual will help further develop our neoantigen-based T cell therapy pipeline and will support ongoing bioinformatic analyses. The Junior Bioinformatician will support various projects executed within the BioIT team, focusing on development and implementation of new and existing analysis tools to support our neoantigen-based T cell therapy discovery platform. In addition, building a secure deployment infrastructure and maintaining GxP standards is a key focus for this position. In this role the person will closely collaborate with other BioIT focus groups (i.e., Operations and Research). This position requires a strong affinity for software development and knowledge of, and affinity with, (molecular) biology and immunology.

Responsibilities

  • Support the BioIT team focusing on development, implementation and testing of Neogene’s analysis pipeline.
  • Support the development and implementation of new analysis methods to be used in our neoantigen-based T cell therapy discovery platform.
  • Liaise with the Research and Operations focus groups to align on implementation of novel pipeline components.
  • Support building an infrastructure to test and deploy analysis pipeline innovations.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain, improve and expand data storage and server capacity required for BioIT.
  • Liaise with the Quality Assurance team to build software pipelines meeting the required quality standards.
  • Present obtained results in internal work discussions.
  • Support of documentation of experimental results in electronic laboratory journal, databases and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • M.Sc. in Bioinformatics or a closely related field.
  • Experience with either R or Python and Bash.
  • Strong affinity with software development.
  • Affinity with (molecular) biology and/or immunology.
  • Hands-on experience with the analysis and interpretation of large scale NGS data sets by common next-generation sequencing platforms (Illumina, Pacific Bio and Oxford Nanopore).
  • A strong sense of urgency with regards to work duties and the ability to deliver results based on challenging timelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate results to a diverse cross-functional audience.
  • Experience in the field of immuno-oncology.
